The original Junkers F 13 is considered the precursor of modern commercial aircraft and was one of the early planes to offer an all-metal construction. Today, Junkers Flugzeugwerke produces an F 13 replica faithfully copying the manufacture techniques of the original while incorporating modern instruments and radios in the cockpit. Powered by a nine-cylinder radial Pratt & Whitney Wasp Junior engine, the F 13 can land on paved runways thanks to a redesigned landing gear.
